Short Films Review~ Kriti

      Source :

Director : Shirish Kunder

Cast : Manoj Bajpayee, Radhika Apte, Neha Sharma, Manu Rishi

I was strolling through random YouTube videos when I came across this amazing psycho-thriller short film. The movie showcases amazing actors along with precise direction skills. Although the movie faced plagiarism charges and was removed temporarily from Youtube, it made its way back and here i am, giving you a review of this quirky thriller.

The movie starts with Sapan(Manoj Bajpayee), talking to his psychiatrist Dr Kalpana (Radhika Apte) and telling her about his new-found love with a girl named Kriti(Neha Sharma). However, Dr Kalpana refuses to believe that she is real and doubts that she is a figment of his imagination just like his previous girlfriend. Sapan challenges her that Kriti is real and he will prove it to her.

The director tries his best to play with our imagination by placing mannequins all over the house which finally leads to kriti, a beautiful girl with a charming smile. However, the film takes a different turn when Dr Kalpana refuses to acknowledge her existence despite Sapan showing her proof. This makes Sapan doubt Kriti’s existence and then starts the mind-boggling plot of trying to figure who is real and who is not.

The movie revolves around an amazing plot keeping the viewers on the edge of the seat. Manoj as usual plays his character effortlessly and the background music with the unveiling of each layer of suspense is nerve-wracking. The movie sounds very appealing in the way it tries to capture imagination and reality. Director Kunder has done an amazing job, although most of his movies in Bollywood has not received much praise and attention. You can also check out Joker and Jaan-e-Maan also directed by Kunder. Overall, this short film is an amazing  psycho thriller to keep you glued to your seat and it is worth a watch.
