We all spend hours sticking our faces to google trying to find out home remedies for maintaining perfect health and body. Being a fitness freak myself, I decided to share with our readers some home remedies that my grandma passed on to me. These home remedies are easily availible and safer to try too.

The magic fruit papaya as my grandma says is the secret for getting a flawless and a glowing skin. This beautiful and juicy fruit acts as a natural skin cleanser as the active enzymes work wonders to remove impurities from our body making our skin glow.  The enzyme papain present in papaya is known to aid digestion by breaking down protiens. It works best when taken in empty stomach in the morning either in liquid or solid form. It acts as an amazing detoxifier.


The cinnamon sticks are one of the best source of anti-oxidants in the world. It is one of the best ingredient for weight reduction. Cinnamon has the effect of thinning our blood thereby increasing blood circulation. Increased blood flow  boosts our metabolism which is why it may be helpful in weight loss. The warming properties of Cinnamon helps to increase blood flow and thereby improve blood oxygen levels to fight illness.

Turmeric powder is found in every Indian kitchen by default but apart from making dishes delicious,it has many medicinal properties.Turmeric contains curcumin, a substance with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which makes it the most medicinal herb. It works as a perfect medicine for pimples and can be a effective method to remove tan and to keep your skin healthy and glowing.Recent scientific research confirm that turmeric can cure host of diseases, also they found that turmeric restrain the growth of various types of cancer.  Turmeric can act as a antibiotic to smooth muscles so it reduces digestive and menstrual cramping. Gram flour or Besan, as we call it in India works wonders on any type of skin.  While some use it to remove excess oil from the hair before shampooing , others use it with milk and cream as a replacement for soap. Because it can be drying, the milk and cream keep the skin hydrated and supple.  We can also use it with lime water, honey, milk or yoghurt to make a face pack. It helps in keeping the skin hydrated during winters if used regularly for bath.


Coconut oil is the magic oil which has multiple uses. Indian women have been using coconut oil for thousands of years to hydrate skin and keep the hair silky and shiny! A drop of coconut oil on a wound can heal it in days.Oil pulling is a traditional practice in India, wherein a spoonful of coconut oil is swished in the mouth for at least 20 minutes to remove impurities. The practice is meant to whiten teeth and purify the skin and achieve youthful, glowing complexion.A coconut oil massage can boost circulation in the body and help those who often feel cold.


This belongs to the Piperaceae family and has played a very vital role in history where it has been traded as currency between nations. Such is the worth of Black Pepper.It is used both as a spice and a medicine. The chemical piperine, which is present in black pepper, causes the spiciness. It is native to Kerala, the southern state of India. The piperine in black pepper eases digestion and stimulates the stomach. Due to its anti-bacterial properties, it helps in curing cold and cough.If that’s not enough then let me tell you that it can also help you in weight reduction. It’s outermost layer contains phytonutrients, which helps to break down fat cells, and also increases metabolism.

Castor oil is a vegetable oil, and the plant is largely native to Africa and India.
