Two people:
A room apart
With a joined heart

Stealthy glances:
Eyes that meet
But pretend otherwise

The world dissolves:
It’s just them both
And their heartbeats

Fluttering breath:
Two straining hearts
Pumping fire

Silent conversations:
The eyes speak
Their lips watch over

Two pairs of eyes:
Each having
The other’s reflection

Firmly caught:
Smoky tendrils of desire
Coiling around them

An unwelcome guest:
Reality intrudes
The mist clears

A sudden check:
Four shy eyes
Four blushing cheeks

Erratic heartbeats:
Their eyes dance around
Skidding across each other

Another stolen glance:
A shared smile
And love.
